- To production companies, directors, subtitling teams, and encoding groups:
- This channel is a small non-profit space that shares queer screen works free of charge in order to circulate queer perspectives and increase public visibility for queer communities. Many of the titles appearing here exist because of your production, translation, subtitling, or encoding work, and we would like to express our sincere thanks.
- In mainland China, queer representation has long faced significant restrictions. Even in recent years, some educational materials have continued to describe homosexuality in pathologizing terms; so-called conversion practices have not entirely disappeared; and online content connected to queer rights or queer social movements can still be suppressed, restricted, or removed. Scenes involving same-sex intimacy are also often difficult to circulate through mainstream video platforms. Although China’s queer population is vast, many people are still compelled to remain unseen in everyday life. For that reason, the internet has become one of the few places where queer stories can be shared, where people may better understand themselves, and where the public can encounter fuller, more truthful representations of queer lives. We believe these stories deserve to be visible, especially in mainland China. That conviction is the reason this channel was created, and we believe it is not far from the spirit behind your own work.
- We do not share video resources in public Telegram groups. Within our private groups, Telegram’s media-restriction settings are enabled so that videos can only be viewed inside Telegram rather than freely redistributed. In addition, access is limited to Chinese-speaking users in order to reduce possible effects on distribution in non-Chinese-language regions.
